Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana’s Golden Triangle. Our experienced team members are our most precious asset, having discovered, explored and developed more than 24Moz of gold resources and reserves in Ghana; and having managed Ghana’s largest underground mine.About This RoleThe role leads Asante’s Geoscience Technical Centre, delivering technical services to regional exploration and mine geology teams to support resource definition and operational improvements. It focuses on optimizing exploration practices through advanced technology and scientific methods to maximize discovery success while managing associated risks. The position is responsible for planning and executing geoscience programs and research in alignment with organizational strategies, policies and sustainability objectives. It oversees all geoscience activities across Group properties including safety, budgeting, regulatory compliance and effective management of consultants and team members. The role also fosters collaboration with universities to drive innovation and develop new techniques for resource discovery.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the Geoscience Technical Centre within the defined jurisdiction including administrative, governance, technical requirements and initiatives.Promote the company’s commitment to health and safety, sustainability, the environment and ensure Asante’s standards are met at the project.Works closely with a team of exploration geologists & geoscientists to identify opportunities, evaluate programs, and provide oversight on planning and execution of mid- to long-term exploration programmes.Provide a technical excellence service to the exploration and mine geology teams.Lead execution of strategies to enhance current exploration practices and performances in achieving the organization’s overall strategy.Engage with university stakeholders with respect to initiating research projects to develop new technologies, techniques, and strategies for exploration.Facilitate the exchange of geological technical information by developing open communication between regional functions and site technical groups.Develop and maintain constructive relationships with Internal Stakeholders (Mine Based Exploration Managers, Geoscience Technical Excellence Team, Resource Geology, Mine Planning, Geotechnical, Survey, Community Relations and Operations teams.Perform technical audits to support business decisions and analyze information and prepare technical documents to support decision making; present recommendations and provide status updates to Management and key stakeholders.Act as a change agent and project sponsor for key initiatives; model organizational values, set the cultural tone and prioritize business goals.Perform any other duties as may be assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.Education, Work Experience & Key CompetenciesBachelor’s Degree Geology and or master's degree, Geosciences/ Geological Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in mineral gold exploration. Certification from the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission (IDMC), Ghana.Professional registration with a recognized Professional association is desirable.Experience managing multi-rig exploration drilling programs (Reverse Circulation and Diamond Drilling)Proficient level of experience with standard industry Mining & Exploration software, such as; Micromine, Datamine, Surpac, Vulcan, MapInfo, ArcGIS, Leapfrog is preferred.Experience in administering or using standard Industry database software; Acquire, Datashed, Fusion, etcExperience in Geological and/or Resource ModellingBroad understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control programsExperience working on magmatic-hydrothermal ore-forming systems and clear understanding of relevant and current mineral deposit modelsSolid understanding of economic geology principlesAbility to work effectively at a variety of scales and ability to lead and have oversight of multiple projects simultaneouslySound knowledge and understanding of the Duty of Care Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations 2012 L.I 2182, and Mining Inspection Act & Regulations.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across various scales.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.Experience in conflict resolution and team dynamics.Innovation and continuous improvement mindset.Effective stakeholder communication and collaboration.
