We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Group Assistant Accountant to join our expanding Group Finance team. This newly created role reports directly to the Group Finance Manager to support the continued growth of our business and offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to develop their career in the property and funds management sector.As part of our dynamic finance function, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of group financial reporting, supporting operational efficiency, and contributing to the overall financial performance of the business.About HabenHaben is a privately owned funds and property management business that specialises in unlocking value from retail shopping centres currently located across the East Coast of Australia. We are growing rapidly while maintaining our personal touch, and care deeply about our community of co-investors and partners, as well as the communities where our assets are located.About the RolePrepare monthly group bank reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesPost end-of-month journals and balance sheet reconciliations for group entitiesProcess supplier invoices, prepare payments, and circulate payment summariesManage accounts payable for group and private entitiesPost intercompany recharge journals and ensure monthly clearing of inter-entity loansManage employee corporate card program including approvals, cancellations, and spend limitsPrepare and submit monthly corporate card summary reports to CFO/COOReview financial statements prepared by outsourced providers and liaise with auditorsSupport finance systems and process improvements to enhance efficiencyFoster strong stakeholder relationships and promote financial excellenceAbout YouBachelor’s degree in Accounting and currently studying CPA or CA1–2 years’ experience in accounting rolesAudit or public practice experience preferredExperience in property, funds management or related sectors desirableSkilled in ERP systems and comfortable driving systems/process improvementsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailExcellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlinesConfident communicator with strong presentation skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelThis role will be based out of our brand-new Head Office located in Double Bay, offering a modern and collaborative working environment designed to support both productivity and team connection.
