Group Health, Safety and Security Lead

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Group Health, Safety & Security Lead to drive the strategic direction of health, safety, and security across a complex operational environment. This senior leadership role will shape group-wide standards, strengthen governance, and ensure the protection of people, assets, and organisational reputation through proactive risk management and strong operational oversight.Responsibilities:Develop and execute the organisation’s Health, Safety and Security strategy aligned with operational and sustainability objectives.Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and international standards including ISO 45001 and ISO18788.Lead the development and enforcement of group-wide HSS governance frameworks, policies and standards.Oversee incident investigations, risk assessments, audits and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.Establish and maintain global security frameworks to safeguard personnel, assets and information.Coordinate crisis management, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning.Monitor safety performance indicators and report on organisational health and safety performance to senior leadership.Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and external security and compliance bodies.Lead initiatives that strengthen safety culture, behavioural safety programmes, and operational leadership across multiple business unitsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Security Management, Engineering, or a related field.Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, CPP or similar.10+ years’ experience in senior health, safety or security leadership roles within industrial, manufacturing, mining, or chemicals environments.Strong knowledge of international safety standards, regulatory compliance and security protocols.Demonstrated experience managing risk, crisis response, contractors, and security operations.Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking capabilities.Ability to operate confidently at executive and board level, influencing decision-making and organisational culture.EE DisclaimerAll positions will be filled in accordance with the company's Employment Equity plan.
