Job Description

Cork University Hospital (CUH) is a public hospital owned and managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) and is a member of the South/South West Hospital Group. CUH forms part of the Cork University Hospitals Group (CUHG), which also includes Mallow General Hospital and Bantry General Hospital.Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) is a designated National Gynaecology Cancer Centre, the only National Centre for Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, and a leading site for research and innovation in Ireland. As an ESGO-accredited training centre for Gynaecological Oncology, CUMH provides fellows with the opportunity to train with internationally recognised experts in surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and histopathology.Fellowship DescriptionContract: 2 years (commencing 13th July 2026), with the option of a 3rd research year. Training: The fellowship is designed to provide comprehensive subspecialty training across all aspects of the ESGO curriculum in Gynaecologic Oncology. Rotations include:Core Gynaecologic Oncology at CUMHOff-service rotations at CUH in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Colorectal Surgery, Pathology, and Palliative CareElective clinical rotations (e.g. Urologic Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery)Research: An optional third year offers fellows the opportunity to focus on academic or translational research relevant to their future careers.Desirable Criteria Research & Academic InvolvementEvidence of research output (publications, presentations, audits, or ongoing projects). Interest in pursuing academic/clinical research during the fellowship. Familiarity with study design, data collection, or biobanking. Teaching & LeadershipExperience in teaching medical students, residents, or allied healthcare staff. Evidence of leadership roles or involvement in service development.
