Indooroopilly State High School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated educational leader to oversee our International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.In this Head of Department - Curriculum - International Baccalaureate role, you will combine strategic leadership, academic management, and pastoral care to ensure the ongoing success and growth of the IB programme within our school community.This is a temporary full-time position to commence from 22 January 2026 until 11 December 2026, with possibility of extension, unless otherwise determined. Find out more about working with us .Why Join UsThis is an exceptional opportunity to lead a well-established IB programme within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.You will have the autonomy to shape the future direction of the programme and the satisfaction of guiding both staff and students toward success on an international stage.Your ResponsibilitiesAs Head of Department - Curriculum - International Baccalaureate Coordinator, you will:Lead the implementation and continual improvement of the IB Diploma Programme in alignment with IB standards and practices.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IB policies, curriculum developments, and assessment requirements, and ensure these are effectively communicated and embedded across the faculty.Support, mentor, and develop teaching staff through professional learning, performance development, and collaborative practice.Provide guidance and advice to students and parents on IB subject choices, academic progress, and wellbeing.Manage administrative processes including timetabling, budgeting, enrolment, and reporting.Represent the school in IB network meetings and foster strong relationships with other coordinators and IB representatives.Lead data analysis and contribute to strategic planning to improve student outcomes and enhance programme delivery.Oversee CAS, TOK, and Extended Essay components, ensuring effective supervision, compliance, and student support.Promote the IB programme through events such as Open Days, parent information sessions, and community presentations.Provide guidance and advice to students and parents on IB subject choices, academic progress, and wellbeing.Manage administrative processes including timetabling, budgeting, enrolment, and reporting.Represent the school in IB network meetings and foster strong relationships with other coordinators and IB representatives.Lead data analysis and contribute to strategic planning to improve student outcomes and enhance programme delivery.Ensure alignment between IB priorities and the school's strategic plan, school AIP, and the school's pedagogical frameworkParticipation in school's curriculum leadership team.About YouThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Proven experience in IB coordination or senior academic leadership.Comprehensive understanding of the IB Diploma Programme framework and philosophy.Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.Commitment to fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic leadership team.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
