Head of Group Regulatory, Data Protection and ComplianceThe PurposeThe Head of Group Regulatory, Data Protection and Compliance will lead and shape the regulatory and compliance strategy across the Dialog Group. This pivotal role encompasses oversight of regulatory affairs, data protection and privacy, anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC), ethics, and integrity. Act as the central liaison with key regulatory bodies, ensure timely compliance with directives and licenses, and integrate regulatory considerations into business strategy. As the designated Data Protection Officer and Compliance Officer for the CBSL, the role requires strong leadership, strategic foresight, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold the Group’s legal and ethical standards.The JobTo act as the centralized liaison for the Dialog Group with key regulatory authorities, fostering strong relationships with personnel from organizations such as TRCSL, BOI, the Media Ministry, CBSL, and the Data Protection Office.Lead and develop the Dialog Group’s data protection and privacy strategy by engaging stakeholders, establishing Group-wide standards, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and business requirements.Oversee data protection activities and manage privacy risks, including reputational risks from non-compliance, and foster a data privacy culture through cross-functional collaboration.Lead and oversee the Dialog Group's ABAC, Ethics, and Integrity Strategy, ensuring adherence to best practices and a strong compliance culture.Ensure timely compliance with regulatory requirements, including licenses and fees, by submitting monthly reports, liaising on specific issues, adhering to guidelines, and periodically reporting to the Axiata Group Regulatory Affairs UnitProvide strategic insights and guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters.Lead regulatory aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestments, ensuring full compliance.Oversee execution of BOI supplementary agreements and related formalities.Guide, mentor, and develop the assigned teams, fostering accountability and performance.The PersonAttorney-at-Law with an LLB and/or MBA; additional qualifications in compliance, economics, or CIMA are advantageous.Minimum 8–9 years of experience in regulatory, compliance, or legal functions.Strong ability to analyze and simplify legislation and advise on business implications.Proven experience in managing regulatory relationships and compliance frameworks.Deep understanding of data privacy, ABAC, and ethics standards.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Strategic mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex regulatory landscapes.
