Software Architect

As a Software Architect, you will join a global FX engineering team who develops and maintains a global trading solution for FX NDF Matching platform that brings together the benefits of an NDF central limit order book and clearing to offer a unique solution for the global foreign exchange market fulfilling the demand for NDF market infrastructure in Asia and around the globe.Role ResponsibilitiesAssume responsibility of the overall technical aspects of the solution and represent the area as the technical owner in internal and external collaborator forumsApplies knowledge of technologies, design patterns and standards to proactively identify and handle the implementation of all architectural changes and improvements to the solutionWork closely with Product Owners and Technical Product Managers for aligning and expanding the scope as necessary to the upcoming business trends and demands while maintaining or improving the non-functional aspects such as performance, resiliency, security, hardware efficiency and operabilityProactively identify technical enhancements to cater the existing functional and non-functional requirements and partner with senior architects to guide teams through effective design and implementationTranslate business objectives into technical specifications, evaluate architectural feasibility, and recommend alternative designs where applicable that satisfy requirements with lower effort and riskContribute to high-level design of requirements, provide effort estimations, and support delivery management in planning and scheduling implementationCollaborate with Technical Operations and DevOps to define operational and deployment requirements, CI/CD process, release delivery process, monitoring frameworks, and operational documents to make sure resilient, reliable production rollouts and smooth operationsCollaborate with Quality Assurance teams to enhance overall delivery quality by identifying test scenarios that can increase coverage and working together to improve the effectiveness of testing process and toolingCollaborate with Engineering Leadership to influence the adoption of architectural frameworks, standards, policies and best practicesDrive and provide the leadership to the teams for high quality and timely delivery of customer solutionsProactively identify and highlight any technical or delivery risks and work very closely with the other business, quality and delivery management partners in the overall software deliveryBe responsible for training and mentoring all direct and indirect reports that include Engineers and junior Architects who work for the area and in the related customer deliveriesPlay the people manager role for a team of Tech Leads and Associate ArchitectsEstablish that the team as an entity and everyone in the team is following the recommended SDLC best practices and standardsActively take part in architecture governance discussions and to give recommendations and feedback for overall company software architectural principles and SDLC best practicesRole RequirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or similar technical fieldProven software engineering and architect background in C++ or Java technologiesOver 10 years of industry experience and at least 2 years’ experience at the architect capacityExperience in providing technical leadership to medium size teamsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively across teams and manage complex stakeholder relationshipsThorough understanding of the full SDLC and related tools Hands-on UNIX/Linux System Administration skills, with hands-on experience managing complex environmentsHands-on proficiency in cloud technology, different open-source technologies and integration of themBeing detailed with modern IT trendsExperience and knowledge in agile methodologiesPrior experience and domain knowledge in trading and credit systems, would be an added benefitLSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.
