We work hand in hand with charities, rare disease groups, research sites, CROs, and biopharma innovators who share a simple belief that people deserve clarity, dignity, and transparent information.The Head of Partnerships is a remote, full-time business development position. The role has regular overlap with the UK and US time zones. The Head of Partnerships reports to the Chief Biopharma Strategy and Solutions Officer and will serve as the driving force behind biopharma, CROs, and patient communities partners.Key Responsibilities1. Partnership strategy and ownershipDefine and own pRxEngage’s overall partnership strategy across biopharma, CROs, and community organisations.Translate company goals into a clear partnerships plan with target accounts, verticals, and geographies (initial focus on rare disease and specialty indications).Set and manage annual and quarterly targets for new partnerships, renewals, and expansion.Represent partnerships at the leadership level, shaping pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.Travel may be required when a face-to-face meeting would provide the greatest benefit for the opportunity, whether with individual sponsors or at conferences and networking events.2. Biotech and Pharma Partnerships (commercial/BD/sales)Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of biotech, pharma, and CRO opportunities (from emerging biotechs to large pharma and strategic CRO partners), including inbound, outbound, and channel-driven deals.Lead the deal cycle: discovery, solution shaping, proposal development, value modelling, contracting, and handover into delivery.Position pRxEngage clearly against the wider clinical trial recruitment landscape (with companies such as TrialScreen, Antidote, MyTomorrows, Massive Bio) and articulate our differentiation around community-rooted engagement, behavioural design, and rare disease expertise. Partner with Product and Operations to translate sponsor needs into deployable campaigns, widgets, and trial journeys that genuinely help patients and sites.Own key strategic accounts, ensuring excellent sponsor experience, clear reporting, and opportunities for multi-study and multi-country expansion.Feed structured market intelligence back into the business (therapeutic area trends, study design issues, pricing expectations, competitor tactics).3. Community and Charity PartnershipsIdentify, approach, and secure partnerships with charities, patient groups, foundations, and community-led organisations across rare diseases and other specialty conditions.Co-design partnership models that are sustainable, fair, and aligned with community values, including revenue share and impact share structures where appropriate.Ensure our promise of no cost for charities and patients to use our trial discovery tools is clear and consistently communicated.Work closely with patient leaders and advocacy teams to co-create campaigns, content, and educational tools that reflect real-world patient experience.Build playbooks for different partner types (small volunteer-led charity, large foundation, hospital-based group, specialist clinic) so that we can scale while staying personal.4. Process, Tooling, and ReportingOwn the partnerships pipeline, forecasting, and reporting using our CRM (HubSpot).Design a simple, repeatable sales and partnership process that can be followed when the organization scales and by future team members (from first contact through to signed agreement and launch).Track and report on key performance metrics: opportunities created, conversion rates, sales cycle length, average contract value, retention and expansion, and community impact metrics.Work with CBSSO, Finance, and the CEO to build and refine pricing models, proposals, and commercial templates.Periodic report/summary for senior-level review of the current and future state of the business space (competitive landscape). 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration and LeadershipPartner closely with Product, Marketing, Patient Engagement, and Operations to align on go-to-market plans and delivery.Act as the internal “voice of the partner” and “voice of the sponsor” in roadmap discussions and campaign design.Contribute to speaking opportunities, webinars, and industry events as a senior external face of pRxEngage.Build and manage a partnership team (for example, Partnerships Managers or Account Executives focused on specific geographies or segments).Preferred Experience and SkillsFive to eight years of experience in partnerships, business development, or sales within clinical trials, digital health, healthcare technology, life sciences, or related fields.Proven track record of closing and growing commercial partnerships with biotech, pharma, CROs, or similar stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work with community organisations or patient advocacy groups, or a convincing motivation and understanding of what a good partnership looks like in this context. Comfortable owning and working to revenue targets and partnership KPIs, while keeping patients and communities at the centre of decision-making.Excellent relationship building and communication skills – able to move easily between C-suite leaders at pharma, operations teams at CROs, and leaders of small charities.Experience using a CRM platform (ideally HubSpot) to manage pipelines, forecasts, and account plans.Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills, including experience with MSAs and SOWs.Preferred But Not RequiredExperience working with patient recruitment or clinical trial engagement solutions, or with an innovative, patient-centered technology, or clear exposure to how sponsors and sites think about recruitment, retention, and diversity. Strong understanding of the clinical trial lifecycle and the real-world barriers patients and clinical sites face (eligibility, awareness, trust, logistics, diversity).Experience in rare diseases, oncology, metabolic, or cardiovascular disease.Prior work at a patient recruitment company, trial finder, or digital health engagement platform.Experience building early-stage partnership functions in a start-up or scale-up environment.Existing network within biotech/pharma clinical operations, digital innovation, or patient engagement teams.Professional AttributesExhibits exceptional capacity to acquire new skills and knowledge in areas outside previous experience (i.e., rare disease or patient advocacy).Demonstrates deep empathy for patients and families, especially in rare diseases and chronic conditions.Combines strategic insight with strong execution capabilities and a readiness to engage in hands-on work when needed.Comfortable with ambiguity and pace in an early-stage company.Brings a strong team-first mindset and is driven by creating meaningful impact alongside others.Clear, honest communicator who is comfortable with leading direct conversations while building trust.Service-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to supporting patients and families.Demonstrates a “coach and player” mentality with the ability to lead, collaborate, and actively contribute.Hands-on, proactive approach with a readiness to roll up their sleeves.Strong follow-through and accountability, delivering on commitments.At pRxEngage, we believe that diversity drives innovation, equity ensures fairness, inclusion fosters collaboration, and belonging creates an environment where everyone can thrive.
