Our primary goal is to compete at the prestigious iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris, where we aim to build a competitive and potentially victorious team. 5C iGEM provides a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful, real-world scientific projects while representing the Claremont Colleges on an international stage.Role DescriptionFor the 2026 - 2027 iGEM competitive timeline, the Head of Research will lead all research initiatives, including designing and overseeing experiments, analyzing data, and ensuring the scientific rigor of the team's work. They will also manage and mentor the research team, foster collaboration across disciplines, and guide the development of strategic research goals. Additionally, the Head of Research will be responsible for integrating market research insights to shape competitive project outcomes. QualificationsStrong foundation in Research and Development (R&D), Research, and Analytical SkillsExperience in conducting Market Research to inform project strategiesDemonstrated leadership abilities, including Team Leadership and mentoring experienceExcellent problem-solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teamsFamiliarity with synthetic biology and the iGEM competition is a plus
