The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert with strong leadership skills and deep knowledge of regulatory requirements in financial services, capable of aligning risk management with business objectives. The role will own the risk framework across reserve safety, liquidity, market/interest-rate, operational/technology, third-party, and regulatory risks unique to digital assets ensuring continuous alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices for safety, soundness, and consumer protection.Required Skills and ExperienceQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are highly preferred.15+ years of experience in senior risk roles within payments, banking and fintech, with 5+years of digital asset risk management experienceDeep knowledge of risks unique to USD-backed stablecoins such as peg stability mechanics, reserve composition and safekeeping, redemption dynamics, on-chain market structure, cross-chain/bridge risk, key management, and smart-contract change control.Experience leading a team and developing a risk framework in the digital asset industryExperience designing effective controls and leading the execution of key components of a risk programExceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to senior leadership, regulators, and staffAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressureDetail-oriented and highly organized with a strong sense of integrity and ethicsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and implement a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework tailored to the risks and regulatory requirements of a USD-backed stablecoin.Continuously refine the framework, including governance, risk taxonomy, appetite statements, and reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors.Interpret and apply regulatory guidance and oversee internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with evolving regulations.Establish policies for reserve asset composition, diversification, duration, and liquidity.Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis for redemption runs, market disruptions, and custodial outages.Implement real-time monitoring tools, early-warning indicators, and response protocols to prevent and manage deviations from the USD peg.Provide second-line oversight for treasury activities, interest-rate exposure, settlement processes, and investment of reserves in eligible instruments.Lead business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and severe-event tabletop exercises for incidents such as cyberattacks, chain outages, or payment rail failures.Implement validation and oversight for pricing, liquidity, and risk analytics models.Ensure proper asset segregation along with integrity and accuracy of internal and third-party data sources.Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management to achieve effective, risk-based compliance for these services.Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the risk programs through process improvements or technological solutions.Hiring CriteriaBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
