Head of Trading – Renewable Energy

Position: Head of Trading – Renewable EnergyLocation: TiranaKastrati Group, one of the largest and most well-known business groups in Albania and the region, established in 1991, is seeking to hire a Head of Trading – Renewable Energy for its offices in Tirana.The company is engaged in various sectors such as energy, oil, construction, services, and trade, and has a successful track record as a leader in its industry.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all energy trading operations in the Day-Ahead, Intraday, and Balancing markets.Monitor daily energy market prices on ALPEX and other regional exchanges, ensuring proactive trading decisions.Optimize the company’s renewable energy trading portfolio (solar, hydro, wind) to maximize profit and minimize exposure to market risk.Approve and supervise the placement of trading orders on the ALPEX platform, in line with company strategy and risk limits.Coordinate closely with OST and the balancing group to ensure accurate nominations and compliance with system operator rules.Monitor real-time production from photovoltaic and other renewable assets, adjusting trading strategies to reflect actual generation and market conditions.Analyze production deviations and contribute to improving forecasting accuracy and scheduling performance.Develop and maintain forecasting models for energy prices and production levels, leveraging analytical and statistical tools.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on trading results, portfolio performance, and achieved average prices.Ensure full compliance with all ERE, OST, and ALPEX regulations and internal risk management policies.Support the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term trading strategies, including cross-border and regional market opportunities.Manage and mentor the trading team, building analytical capability and ensuring operational excellence.Work with energy management systems and trading tools (market platforms, SCADA, Excel models, EMS, Power BI).Qualifications and RequirementsUniversity degree in Economics, Energy Engineering, Finance, or related field.Minimum 7 years of professional experience in electricity trading, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial position.Strong understanding of the Albanian and regional electricity markets, including market rules, products, and balancing mechanisms.Proven experience with ALPEX or other European market exchanges.Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; advanced command of Excel, Power BI, and market analysis tools.Strategic thinking, leadership skills, and ability to make data-driven decisions under time pressure.Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).How to Apply: Interested candidates are also invited to send their CV to: hr@kastratigroup.al,specifying the position you are applying for in the subject line.
