The Company is vertically integrated providing supply chain solutions between worldwide markets and the Pacific Islands. NPDL is the largest carrier in its core Pacific Island markets operating eight container ships and servicing 18 Pacific Island nations.We currently have a great opportunity for the position of Heavy Goods Driver based at our Walu Bay Transport Depot reporting to the Transport Manager.Job DescriptionOperates assigned vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Maintains defensive driving. Keeps assigned vehicles clean inside and outside. Performs daily checks on assigned vehicle as per basic checks, radiator, engine oil dip stick, wiper water and tyres. Performs minor vehicle repairs and Tyre change. Checks fuel level for assigned vehicles daily. Responds immediately to accidents or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response, providers, supervisor and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive. Drivers must adhere to the W&G Drivers Standard Operating Procedures. Performs any other duties as assigned. QualificationsA valid driver’s license class 6,7, or 9Must be able to operate forklifts, trailers, hiabs, 20’/40’ hammer and steelbro side-liftersMust have 2 -3 years’ experience in a similar positionExcellent communication skills both written & verbalAble to work flexible hours when required.
