This is an incredibly exciting time to join our organisation as we continue to expand our brand portfolio to now include an internationally recognised HGV brand marking a new chapter in our growth story.Job DescriptionThe HGV Sales Director is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the company’s sales strategy across all Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) markets. This senior leadership role focuses on driving profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and maintaining the company’s position as a leader in the commercial vehicle sector.The successful candidate will oversee all sales functions including new and used vehicle sales, fleet management, rental partnerships, and aftersales integration while ensuring that revenue and margin targets are consistently achieved.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership· Develop and implement a comprehensive HGV sales strategy aligned with company objectives and market trends.· Provide vision and leadership to the sales organisation, ensuring clear direction and accountability.· Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and decision-making at board level.Sales Management· Lead and motivate regional and national sales teams to deliver against KPIs and growth targets.· Manage major client accounts and high-value negotiations, ensuring long-term partnerships.· Oversee sales budgets, pricing structures, and discount policies to maximise profitability.· Monitor market performance and adjust strategy to maintain a competitive edge.Business Development· Identify new business opportunities and emerging markets within the HGV and fleet sectors.· Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and fleet operators.· Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.Performance & Reporting· Set and track measurable objectives for sales performance, customer retention and market expansion.· Provide detailed sales reports, forecasts and performance insights to the executive team.· Analyse competitor activity and industry developments to guide proactive decision-making.Team Leadership & Development· Recruit, train, and mentor sales professionals to achieve excellence.· Promote a culture of high performance, collaboration, and customer focus.· Implement professional development plans and succession strategies.Qualifications & Experience· Proven track record in a senior sales leadership role within the HGV, automotive or commercial vehicle industry.· In-depth understanding of HGV products, fleet operations, financing, and aftersales processes.· Demonstrable experience managing multi-site and national sales teams.· Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to analyse complex data and drive profitability.· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills.· Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to leadership.· Full Driving Licence essential.What We Offer· Competitive salary and performance-based bonus.· Comprehensive benefits package.· Opportunity to work with an innovative and dynamic team.· Career growth and professional development opportunities.How to Apply: Please submit your CV and cover letter to hr@harrisgroup.ie
