Job Title: HR Business PartnerLocation: San Francisco based, full time onsite, Monday – FridaySalary: $95,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience)About Us: Chotto Matte is a vibrant, growing brand with a passion for delivering unique dining experiences. We’re seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to manage HR, payroll and recruitment for our San Francisco location, supporting a dynamic team of around 100 employees.Role Overview: As HR Business Partner, you’ll lead HR, payroll and recruitment for our San Francisco. You’ll partner closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to drive people strategy, manage employee relations, and ensure compliance with regional employment laws. You’ll also play a hands-on role in recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processes.Our HR Business Partner also manages a HR Assistant, who employee contracts, onboarding, reference checks and some payroll administration.Key Responsibilities:Act as the primary HR point of contact for all ER matters across both regions, escalating to our additional support when needed.Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: writing job adverts, maintaining our ATS (Harri), scheduling interviews and trial shifts, checking right to work, and onboarding new employees.Manage payroll, including tips and service charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regional employment laws.Support management with performance management, employee engagement, and HR initiatives.Requirements:Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in hospitality.Strong knowledge of employment laws in the U.S. (California).Hands-on experience with recruitment, onboarding, right-to-work checks, contracts, and HR systems (experience with Harri is a plus).Experience managing payroll, including service charge/tips.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive employee matters confidentially.Proactive and solution-oriented.
