We're Hiring: People AssistantLocation: Southampton OfficeTeam: People & Culture (part of the Operations Team)Contract Type: Permanent / Full timeSalary: £20,000 - £23,000 (Dependant on experience)Are you looking to start your career in HR? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our People & Culture Team as a People Assistant. This role is ideal for someone beginning their journey in HR, with the potential to progress via an apprenticeship route following successful completion of the probationary period.What You’ll Be DoingAs our People Assistant, you’ll provide essential support across the full employee lifecycle, helping to deliver a smooth and professional experience for our people. The role involves ad hoc travel to our other offices in Salisbury, Winchester, Bournemouth and Poole; therefore, a full UK driving licence is essential.Your responsibilities will include:Onboarding & OffboardingCoordinating and undertaking new starter inductions and welcome packs.Managing onboarding documentation and systems.Handling leaver processes and exit interviews.Training & DevelopmentBooking external seminars and webinars.Supporting CPD and training plan creation.Arranging leadership and continuing competence training.Recruitment & Work ExperienceSupporting the Talent Acquisition team with interview coordination and applicant tracking when required.Managing work experience placements and CSR event participation.Employee Records & SystemsMaintaining accurate records in the People system.Logging absences, holidays, flexi-time, and benefits.Preparing offer letters, contracts, and other employment documentation.Trainees & ApprenticesScheduling reviews and managing documentation.Supporting the annual trainee recruitment process.General SupportResponding to employee queries.Assisting with maternity leave, DBS checks, GDPR audits, and Lexcel inspection prep.Contributing to Learning & Development initiatives.What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking someone who is:Organised and detail-focused.A confident communicator with a proactive approach.Comfortable working with confidential information.Interested in developing a career in HR (previous experience is helpful but not essential).Why Join Us?You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values your contribution.
