Our 99,600 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world. Job DescriptionThe Inspector - Minerals will be responsible for conducting inspections, sampling, and quality verification of various bulk and bagged commodities, both processed and natural minerals. The role requires adherence to international standards and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and safety during loading, unloading, and storage operations.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct inspections of vessel holds prior to loading commodities using techniques such as hose tests, ULD, and other approved methods.Perform container stuffing and de-stuffing inspections for minerals and processed commodities.Conduct sampling of bulk, bagged cargo, and stockpiles for quality and moisture determination.Ensure all sampling and inspection procedures comply with international standards such as ISO, ASTM, BS, and IS.Handle Draft Surveys and provide accurate measurement and documentation of cargo quantities.Verify and document commodity quality in line with client and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate records of inspections, samples, and test results.Commodities HandledNatural Commodities: Chrome Ore (Lumpy), Manganese Ore, Ilmenite Ore, Laterite Ore, Bauxite Ore, Iron Ore & Concentrate, Natural Gypsum, Limestone, Dolomite.Processed Minerals & Metals: Cold DRI, HBI, HCFC, LCFC, Silico Manganese, Granular Sulphur, Granular Urea.Energy Minerals: Met Coke, Pet Coke, Calcined Coke, Various types of Coal (including Anthracite), NUT Coke.Non-Ferrous Minerals: Copper Concentrate, Antimony Concentrate.QualificationsQualifications & Experience:Proven experience in minerals inspection, sampling, and testing.Knowledge of international standards for sampling, sample preparation, and moisture determination (ISO, ASTM, BS, IS).Experience in Draft Surveys, vessel hold inspections, and container stuffing/de-stuffing inspections.Familiarity with various minerals, metals, and energy commodities as listed above.Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to maintain accurate records.Other RequirementsAbility to travel to ports and sites as required.Physical fitness for field inspections.Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams.
