JOB DESCRIPTION – INVESTMENT/WEALTH MANAGER Type: Location: Full-Time Employment Lagos, Nigeria Reports to: Head of Wealth ManagementBudget: 1.1M netOur client is a financial technology business, that builds economies by partnering with global aggregators and investors to connect African entrepreneurs with affordable financing, to scale their businesses. Job SummaryAs a Wealth Manager, you will manage and expand the company's investor base. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with existing investors while actively seeking new investment opportunities. Your focus will be to facilitate the growth and development of the institution by effectively diversifying funding channels, ensuring deposit mobilization and devising investment strategies. Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Investor Acquisition & Retention: • Pursue new investment opportunities by actively engaging potential investors, attending conferences, and networking within the industry to achieve deposit mobilization from approved sources. • Collaborate with the Brands Marketing and Communications team to develop effective strategies to attract new investors and retain existing ones. • Prepare investment proposals, pitch decks, and presentations tailored to the needs and preferences of specific investor segments. • Conduct market research and analysis to identify investor preferences, market trends, and potential areas of growth. 2. Investor Relationship Management: • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing investors, including institutional investors, private equity firms, and high-net-worth individuals. • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, addressing their inquiries, providing regular updates, and fostering open communication channels. • Understand investor needs, expectations, and risk appetite, ensuring their investment objectives align with the institution's strategies. • Develop a deep understanding of the institution's products, services, and investment opportunities to effectively engage with investors. 3. Investor Communication: • Develop and execute an effective investor relations communication strategy, including regular newsletters, investor presentations, and annual reports. • Coordinate and lead investor meetings, conference calls, and presentations to convey the institution's financial performance, investment strategies, and growth prospects. • Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial reports, earnings releases, and other relevant information to investors, complying with regulatory requirements and industry standards. • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators to provide valuable insights and updates to investors. 4. Compliance and Reporting: • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including funding disclosure obligations, reporting standards, and investor protection regulations. • Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory changes affecting the credit institution's investor relations activities. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date investor records, including contact information, investment preferences, and transaction history. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as legal and compliance teams, to ensure adherence to internal policies and industry best practices. Job competencies and capabilities • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage. • At least 3-4 years’ proven experience in private wealth management such as family offices, investor relations, business development, or related roles within the financial industry, preferably in a credit institution. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, market trends, and investor preferences. • Proficient in preparing investor communications, presentations, and financial reports. • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and disclosure obligations. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
