The industry is moving to a new data standard, ISO 20022, which will increase speed and data transparency of payments, resulting in better customer outcomes.As we commence Phase 3 of the ISO 20022 Program, we’re seeking a specialist to join our product team as a Business Lead. This is a 1-year secondment/fixed term within Corporate Banking.Te tūranga | The RoleAs The ISO 20022 Business Lead, You Will Lead and inspire a cross-functional team as the product expert for ISO 20022. Drive delivery of program changes, collaborating with key business and technical stakeholders. Own the business stream of the transformation, ensuring planning, delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Oversee business change, communication, and compliance with regulatory deadlines. Champion the program’s value, leveraging customer insights to prioritise initiatives. Ensure ongoing compliance, uplift capability, and identify commercial opportunities. Strengthen risk profile, customer experience, and measure business outcomesŌ pūkenga | About YouYou Will Bring8+ years’ experience with complex payment ecosystems, focusing on Payments (cross-border and domestic), Treasury, and/or Transaction Banking.Prior involvement in large-scale transformation or regulatory projects, ideally related to ISO 20022, Swift, or Payments.Practical understanding of banking, payment processing, and financial markets, especially FX.Ability to harness knowledge of data, process, and technology to influence, strategically problem-solve, and critically analyse process performance.Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across business, Operations, and Technology.Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability in cross-functional programs.Familiarity with Agile project/delivery methodologies.Sound understanding of the legal and regulatory environment relating to financial services (particularly payments), both local and international. What You’ll Be Responsible ForLeading the continual uplift of capability and capacity within the business and broader department.Strengthening and enhancing the value proposition to enable distribution teams to deliver an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.Aligning and prioritising business requirements with enterprise-level Payments strategy, overseeing business readiness activities including go-live preparation, contingency planning, and post-implementation reviews.Strengthening our risk profile and culture through the delivery of the programme, ensuring compliance with regulations, internal policies, and industry requirements.Identifying commercial opportunities within the program that drive business outcomes such as revenue, profitability, and operational efficiencies.Developing and monitoring appropriate metrics to measure business outcomes.
