As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Junior IT Engineer to provide support and undergo training in managing the IT infrastructure that supports both our SMT production line and general office systems.This role offers training, mentorship, and long-term growth within a modern manufacturing environment.Role PurposeThe Junior IT Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT systems, including:SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production line computer systemsAssembly and testing line software environmentsIndustrial PCs and machine interface systemsOffice IT infrastructure and devicesNetwork, server, and cloud-based platformsUser support for engineering, production, and administrative teamsThe successful candidate will be trained to work closely with senior international engineers and IT staff to ensure uninterrupted operations across all business units.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day IT support for production, engineering, and office staffInstall, configure, and maintain computers, printers, industrial PCs, and peripheralsAssist with the maintenance and operation of SMT line computer systems and softwareSupport IT elements of production machinery requiring PC interfacesMaintain network infrastructure (LAN, WiFi, VLANs) and ensure system connectivityConduct system updates, patching, antivirus checks, and user account managementAssist in ERP and production software implementation, configuration, and updatesMaintain IT asset registers, documentation, and access control recordsTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a fast-paced environmentSupport data backup processes, system integrity, and cybersecurity protocolsMinimum RequirementsN6, Diploma, or Degree in:Information TechnologyComputer Systems EngineeringNetworking / CybersecurityElectrical or Electronic Engineering (advantageous)0–2 years working experience (graduates are encouraged to apply)Strong understanding of:PC hardware and softwareWindows operating systemsBasic networking (IP configuration, switches, routers)Printer and device setupPreferred Knowledge Exposure to manufacturing or industrial environmentsUnderstanding of SMT equipment or automation systemsExperience with SQL databases or ERP systemsBasic scripting or programming (Python, C#, or similar)Familiarity with IoT devices, embedded systems, or production monitoring systemsExperience commercial access control and security systemsCompetenciesStrong problem-solving abilityWillingness to learn and advance into senior technical rolesAbility to work under pressure and handle multiple support requestsProfessional communication and teamwork abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyApplication ProcessInterested candidates should email their CV to: careers@za-eco.co.zaPlease use the subject line: Junior IT Engineer – [Your Name]
