Job Summary:The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing strategic relationships with modern trade partners such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, and large retail chains. This role focuses on driving sales growth, maximizing market share, and ensuring excellent execution of company strategies across all assigned modern trade accounts.Key Responsibilities:Account Management & Business DevelopmentManage and grow sales within assigned modern trade accounts.Develop annual business plans in collaboration with key accounts to achieve sales, volume, and profitability targets.Negotiate trading terms, joint business plans , and promotional agreements with customers.Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the modern trade channel. Sales Planning & ExecutionDevelop and implement account-wise sales strategies aligned with company objectives.Ensure effective listing, visibility, and availability of products in stores.Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance and initiate corrective actions where required.Manage trade spend and promotional budgets efficiently to maximize ROI. Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, category managers, and buyers.Act as the primary point of contact between the company and modern trade customers.Collaborate with internal teams (supply chain, finance, trade marketing) to deliver best-in-class customer service and execution. Market & Competitor AnalysisTrack market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify opportunities and threats.Provide regular reports and actionable recommendations to management. Operational ExcellenceEnsure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and trade terms.Oversee proper execution of planograms, merchandising standards, and promotional activities.Manage inventory levels to avoid stock outs or overstocking situations.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.4–8 years of experience in key account management or modern trade sales, preferably in FMCG or retail industry.Proven experience in negotiating with major retail chains.Strong understanding of modern trade dynamics, category management, and shopper behavior.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong negotiation and analytical abilities.Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.High level of ownership, initiative, and attention to detail.Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
