We aim to recruit and sustain a workforce focused on the shared vision of the College.The Position Billanook College is seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our Facilities team.RoleThis is a full-time, ongoing position, commencing early January 2026 and plays a key role in ensuring the College’s buildings, grounds, and facilities remain safe, functional, and well-presented for students, staff, and families. This is a hands-on role where every day brings variety, from repairs and upkeep to safety checks and grounds maintenance. Working closely with the Facilities Manager and team, you will:Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and outdoor areasPerform general maintenance and repairs (painting, blockages, fixing doors, moving and repairing furniture)Ensure all College areas are safe, clean, and hazard-freeCoordinate with external contractors when requiredMaintain accurate maintenance records and respond promptly to requestsSupport the smooth daily operations of our learning environmentFurther information about the role is provided in the position description attached to this advertisement.About YouYou are a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of safety, reliability, and professionalism in a child-focused environment.You BringPrevious experience in a maintenance or handyperson role;Some form of trade qualification (carpentry, electrical, other) is preferable;A valid driver’s licence;Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills;The ability to work both independently and as part of a team;A flexible and adaptable approach to support the needs of the College;A friendly, professional manner and a commitment to excellent service;A current Working with Children Check and Criminal Record check or willingness to obtain.The SchoolBillanook College is an independent, co-educational Early Learning to Year 12 school situated in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
