This exciting 12-month opportunity is designed to help youth gain valuable workplace experience across various departments within one of South Africa’s most dynamic cultural institutions.The initiative provides practical training, mentoring, and skills development to prepare graduates for future employment while contributing to the Market Theatre Foundation’s mission of promoting the arts and creative industries.Programme OverviewDuration: 12 months (Fixed-term contract)Location: Market Theatre Foundation, JohannesburgMonthly Stipend: R5,000Experience Required: None – recent graduates are encouraged to applyStart Date: 2026 (apply early to be considered)Successful candidates will work hands-on within their respective departments, gaining administrative, technical, or creative experience relevant to their field of study.Eligibility CriteriaApplicants Must Meet The Following Requirements To QualifySouth African citizens aged 18–34 yearsMust be unemployed and not studying full-time in 2026Must not have participated in a YES Programme beforeMust hold a Matric certificate and a National Diploma or Degree from a recognised South African institutionAvailable Internship OpportunitiesBelow are the available internship positions and their reference numbers. Human Resources Intern – Ref: 2025/10/HROverview: Provide support to the HR team in delivering people-related services and initiatives.Requirements: ND/Degree in Human Resource Management / Industrial PsychologySkills: Strong administrative skills, knowledge of labour laws, confidentiality, and MS Office proficiency. Information Technology Intern – Ref: 2025/10/ITOverview: Provide IT support, helpdesk assistance, and system troubleshooting.Requirements: ND/Degree in Information Technology or completed A+ / N+ certificationSkills: Hardware and software support, networking, Windows/macOS environments, and MS Office.
