Job Description

Airswift is working with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry to find a Materials Coordinator II to join their team in Regina, SK. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.Job Summary:The Materials Coordinator/Requisition Coordinator is involved in supply chain management to forecast requirements for raw materials or other resources to meet operational need and ensure requisitions for bulk materials are accurately entered into Oracle Cloud by working directly with Engineers and Subject Matter Experts daily to meet operational needs. This role analyzes data, performs cost-benefit analyses, coordinates requisition processes, and manages inventory.Key Responsibilities:Work closely with materials, production, and engineering teams, both domestically and internationally, to meet customer's needs timely and at appropriate costs.Work closely with engineering and supply chain professionals in Canada and the US to procure materials to meet the project needs (i.e. The right material procured and delivered per the project schedule)Identify and target areas for cost reduction.Manage inventory for accuracy, focusing on process improvements.Analyze the root cause of inventory issues and develop programs and procedures to eliminate them.Help develop a formal supplier evaluation procedure including essential metrics for on-time delivery, accuracy of fulfillment, quality of materials, and pricing comparisons.Manage distribution capabilities, quality processes, and corrective action procedures.Help develop reporting and tracking systems; the system must have reporting mechanisms that yield monthly consolidations of value of materials returned and credits issued.Ensure that the requisitions entered are accurate and complete with all the required supporting information attached (i.e. vendor document requirements, datasheets, specifications, inspection test plan, etc.)Look for opportunities to streamline the requisition process (i.e. develop procedures to eliminate bottlenecks);Help develop reporting and tracking systems - the system must have reporting mechanisms that yield monthly consolidations of value of material requisitions;Stay current and look for opportunities to improve repair and return management practices by benchmarking top-level companiesStay current and look for opportunities to improve repair and return management practices;Performs high-volume data entryPerforms basic management of electronic files (i.e., print, copy, transfer, and delete);Proficient in Word and ExcelQualifications:Associates or Bachelor level degree in business, economics, finance, or engineering4-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing companyExperience with material descriptions and purchase ordersExperience with international shipping dealing with international requirements for invoicesComputer Skills: Proficient with Excel (used to gather data and create basic spreadsheets), Word, PowerPoint (used to create presentations), and Access (used to pull reports).Experience with Oracle and/or SAP (used for transactional processes, lookups, and report generation) is a plus.Oracle experience is an assetMust be detail-oriented, with strong communication skills, and have patience working with others.
