Located in Belize City, IMMARBE plays a critical role in the global maritime industry.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role based in Belize City for a Monitoring Officer. The Monitoring Officer is responsible to manage the daily monitoring of all Belize flagged high seas fishing vessels, consolidate, review and record catch data from the electronic monitoring and catch reporting system and maintain relevant databases.QualificationsAssociate degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Resource Management, or similar disciplineAt least 3 years’ experience in electronic geography and manipulation, geographic information system mapping.Background in clerical and administrative work with emphasis on data collection, management, and analyses.Prior experience in the maritime industry or a related field is advantageousKnowledge of fisheries laws will be an asset but not required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical, reasoning abilities and problem-solving skills to evaluate compliance and prepare accurate reportsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams
