Job Description

Position OverviewThe NVH Validation Manager will serve as the key leader in the Vehicle Quality Validation department, managing and executing the complete validation strategy for several core vehicle attributes including Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) , Squeak & Rattle , Strength & Durability , Corrosion , Environmental Exposure , and Tightness . This role ensures comprehensive vehicle attribute testing aligned with the Design Verification Plan (DVP) and Vehicle Technical Specification (VTS) for each program phase.Key Responsibilities 1. Validation Strategy & Planning Lead the technical definition of validation plans across NVH, squeak and rattle, strength & durability, corrosion, tightness, and environmental resistance. Align test coverage with the program’s DVP and VTS requirements across all development milestones. Ensure full integration of validation planning into the vehicle development lifecycle from early builds to production sign-off. 2. Test Activity Management Allocate testing activities (internal vs. outsourced) based on capability, resource availability, and program constraints. For outsourced activities: Lead supplier selection , technical scoping, timing, and cost negotiations. Coordinate closely with external test vendors to ensure quality execution that meets program timelines and standards. For in-house activities: Ensure availability and readiness of facilities, equipment, and test manpower . Manage a team of Testing Lead Engineers to execute tests to the highest technical and procedural standards. 3. Test Execution & Quality Oversight Provide technical oversight and sign-off of test protocols, execution quality, and final reports. Analyze test outcomes, validate test results, and assess overall vehicle compliance with attribute targets. Identify and document test failures or anomalies; initiate the Problem-Solving Process (PSP) via JIRA , and track issue resolution. Conduct risk assessments for any test deviations or unresolved issues, and recommend corrective actions or acceptance with deviation. 4. Continuous Capability Development Systematically increase in-house testing capabilities for assigned attributes: Expand test equipment and physical test infrastructure. Organize and oversee technical training programs to build internal expertise. Ensure effective ramp-up and operational readiness of new test facilities or upgraded capabilities. Work in close collaboration with Attribute teams , CTF (Component Test Facility) , and EEQ (Engineering Quality) teams to: Define and update testing standards. Drive cross-functional efficiency and shared resource utilization. Requirements Education/ Professional knowledge: Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineer or equivalent work experience ( 1 0 + years) with solid knowledge in automotive development and validation. Skill, Experience Solid background in vehicle architecture , with focus on interior, exterior, BiW , chassis and powertrain systems. Experienced in DVP and overall validation strategies for reliability , tightness and NVH . Good knowledge of testing standards for these domains. G ood skills for subjective assessment of the vehicle, with focus on NVH (wind noise, road noise, PWT noise, operational noise) and squeak and rattle identification. Knowledge about vehicle teardown and failure analysis after durability/corrosion/environmental tests. Experience working with external global testing suppliers L e a d e r s h i p skills , c a p a c i t y t o m o t i v a t e a n d lead and efficiently organize activities of own team of engineers. Excellent c o m m u n i c a t i o n s k i l l s , c a p a b i l i t y o f s y n t h e s i s a n d i d e n t i f i c a t i o n o f i m p o r t a n t t o p i c s a n d t h e i r r e l e v a n c e . Capable to deal with challenging time plans.
