Join our afternoon shift (3pm–11pm) as a hands-on operator, with the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities.Reporting to the Yard Manager, you’ll safely operate machinery such as excavators, forklifts, loaders, and skid steers to sort, grade, and process metals.This is a hands-on role where you’ll also assist with general yard activities and help ensure our operations run efficiently and safely.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeLoad and unload trucks, skip bins, and trailersOperate plant equipment including material handlers, forklifts, loaders, and excavators (where licensed)Grade, sort, and manage metals to meet operational and quality standardsMaintain site compliance with environmental guidelines and OH&S policiesDeliver excellent service to internal and external customersSupport afternoon shift operations with leadership and initiativeCleaning and preparing our main production plant each day to ensure it’s ready for operation.What We’re Looking ForExperience operating forklift – essentialExcavator, loader, skid steer, or other plant tickets – advantageousAbility to work independently and take initiativeHands-on approach and willingness to be flexibleStrong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent attendancePositive, can-do attitude and openness to training to expand skillsWhat We OfferPaid Parental Leave - 12 weeks for primary carers, 6 weeks for secondary carersHealth Benefits - BUPA discounts for you and your familyWellbeing Support - Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Financial Tools - Tailored superannuation sessions to support your financial futureCareer Growth - Ongoing learning and internal promotion pathwaysA career with Sims provides you with the opportunity to work with an organisation whose goal is to be the world’s safest and most responsible recycling company.
