Job DescriptionWe're a Full-Service Pet Care company operating several daycare and grooming locations across New York City. We are growing and seek highly motivated and reliable Overnight Pet Care Attendant to join our awesome team of dog lovers! You will be expected to provide exceptional care to all animals under our supervision, while also ensuring an excellent customer experience.Objectives of the role:Deeply loves animals and enjoys being in their companyApproaches each day with a positive attitudePays attention to detailIs able to multi-taskValues effective communicationIs interested in a long term commitmentIs in good physical condition, able to squat, bend, kneel down, lift, be on their feet and do a lot of walkingIs dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of the dogs/cats under our supervisionThrives in a structured, team oriented, high paced environmentIs comfortable being in an open-play setting with 10-50 dogs at a time for an 8 hour shiftIs comfortable engaging with clientsHas prior experience in animal care or dog daycare managementIs goal oriented and desires growth opportunitiesYou’ll be relied upon to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for the dogs and cats in our care. All new hires must successfully complete an online daycare training course and three days of onsite/hands-on training in a play space.Responsibilities:Clean and disinfect play spaces, boarding crates, & grooming areas, keeping them free; of waste, fur/hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materialsGive dogs proper food and water throughout the dayTake dogs for walks outside the facilityHandle basic bathing tasksPerform body checks and give medicationsSupervise play areas to ensure pet safetyKeep records of feeding and walking schedules for each dogDedicate time to work with dogs (as outlined in our daycare training course)Perform light receptionist duties, such as answering phones and emailsSend end of day pet journals to clients detailing the activities of their dogsParticipate in company pop up eventsBe available to work occasional weekends/ holidaysRequired skills and qualifications:Minimum high school diploma or GED certificateAt least 18 years oldPrior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or personal animal careFamiliarity with identifying various dog breeds and behaviorsPassion for taking care of animalsTeamwork and strong communication skillsPhysical stamina for cleaning and maintaining all daycare areasFamiliarity with various dog harnesses /leashes /collarsCompensation range:Entry level $16.00-18.00 per hourBenefits401KRaises & performance bonusesCareer advancement opportunities & supportDiscounted daycare for employees’ dogs (upon successful daycare evaluation)Flexible hours availableCompany outings & team building eventsOur Guiding Principles:ExcellenceBe the best while doing our best, both in our personal lives and as a company.IntegrityThe foundation of trust and the fabric of all meaningful relationships – not only with our clients and the pets who rely on us, but also with our team, who we rely on every day.PassionFor what we do, and the pets we do it for – otherwise why do it?HospitalityHow we welcome others into our family – with open arms, courtesy, kindness and a sense of belonging.7:00pm-8:00am (overnight shift)
