Job Description

The People & Talent Partner plays a key role in supporting both HR operations and talent acquisition efforts across the organization. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this role combines hands-on recruitment with core HR responsibilities contributing to a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is people-focused, organized and brings a balanced approach – comfortable navigating both day-to-day processes and relationships. Key AccountabilitiesPeople & CultureSupport the Head of Human Resources in the day-to-day delivery of all human resources functions, including developing, implementing and administering HR initiativesProvide guidance to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures and best practices, fostering a consistent and compliant work environmentPrepare HR communications to ensure clarity, consistency and alignment with HR goals and company cultureAct as Co-Chair of the Joint Health & Safety Committee and support country-wide H&S initiativesCoordinate and maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality and integrityMonitor and administer HR legislative requirements, creating and delivering mandatory training programs and supporting audit preparednessCollaborate with the payroll administrator to ensure timely and accurate employee dataSupport the administration of employee benefits and retirement programs including enrolment, changes and responding to employee inquiriesPrepare and process employee documentation, including employment letters and status changesAssist with cyclical HR programs such as performance management, compensation reviews, employee surveys and policy updatesTalent AcquisitionImplement innovative recruitment processes to attract diverse talent poolsPartner with leaders to understand hiring needs and create comprehensive job descriptions to attract skilled talentManage the full-cycle recruitment process from sourcing to onboarding, ensuring a seamless experienceUtilize various sourcing channels including job boards, social media, networking events, employee referrals and leverage partnerships with external agencies to identify and engage top talentCreate targeted social media recruitment and culture campaigns to enhance employer brandingScreen resumes, conduct interviews, and participate in assessments to evaluate candidate qualificationsContinuously evaluate and refine recruitment processes, implementing best practices and trends to improve efficiency and fill roles effectivelyCollaborate with leaders to negotiate salary packages and employment terms, ensuring alignment with compensation plans and company programs and policiesPrepare and extend offer letters, manage the offer process and employee records maintenanceDesign and lead orientation programs, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employeesProvide training and advice to leaders on recruitment and onboarding best practicesTrack and analyze key recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate quality and turnover rates; including preparing reports for senior leadershipStay informed about emerging trends and technologies in talent acquisition, recommending system enhancements or tools that create efficienciesEngage with Colleges and Universities and manage student hiring, including co-ops, interns and new grad programLeverage AI tools and platforms to enhance the recruitment process, streamline candidate sourcing and improve overall efficienciesExperience Requirements3-5 years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist role5+ years of experience in a talent acquisition role Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices in CanadaExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalAble to build trust and credibility to support employees and guide leadersHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProfessional, self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of accountabilityComfortable adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic office environmentDemonstrated discretion when handling confidential informationProficient using HR systems and tools, Microsoft Office Suite and other workplace toolsProfessional appearance and demeanour
