Job Title: Senior Procurement AdvisorContract Duration: 16 months (with strong potential for extension)Monday & Wednesday - Mandatory in the office in Burnaby BCOverviewThe Senior Procurement Advisor is responsible for developing and executing category and project-based sourcing strategies, procurement plans, and supplier management initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives and governance standards.This role manages medium to high complexity sourcing projects with minimal oversight, ensuring value delivery, compliance, and effective stakeholder engagement across multiple business areas.Key ResponsibilitiesManage medium to high complexity sourcing and procurement projects with minimal supervision.Develop and implement sourcing strategies and work packages using strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.Lead or support competitive sourcing events (e.g., RFPs, RFSQs, RFTs) and multi-stage procurement processes.Prepare negotiation strategies and lead contract negotiations through award and execution.Conduct supplier and market research to inform strategic sourcing decisions and identify opportunities for innovation or cost optimization.Implement and maintain supplier relationship management (SRM) programs, including issue resolution and performance management.Act as a subject matter expert providing advice on sourcing best practices, procurement standards, and policy compliance.Collaborate effectively with internal business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to build and maintain positive relationships.Analyze procurement data, generate insights, and prepare reports to support decision-making and performance tracking.Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and public procurement regulations.Qualifications & Experience5–7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, ideally in a large or complex environment.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.Additional certification or coursework in Supply Chain Management or Project Management is considered an asset.Demonstrated expertise in procurement strategy development, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.Strong project management, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (verbal and written).Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an advanced level.Knowledge of public sector procurement principles and applicable laws or policies is an asset.
