Job Title: Procurement Agent 3 Location: Rosemead, CA (Hybrid - Onsite Mondays and Tuesdays)Contract Type: Contractor (Hybrid) Position Summary Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking an experienced Procurement Agent 3 to lead complex sourcing, negotiation, and contract management activities in support of the company’s technical and telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will apply advanced procurement expertise and strong business acumen to negotiate favorable terms, ensure compliance, and deliver cost savings while maintaining supplier relationships that align with SCE’s strategic objectives. This position requires the ability to work onsite in Rosemead, CA two days per week (Monday and Tuesday). Key Responsibilities Technical Purchasing Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term agreements with suppliers. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, engineered products, software, and systems. Review purchase order claims and contracts for policy compliance; resolve defects, delivery, and refund issues with suppliers. Maintain deep understanding of technology trends, cost structures, supplier capabilities, and market forces. Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve lowest total cost and maximize organizational value. Lead company-wide commercial agreement reviews and negotiations. Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities using procurement best practices. Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and procedures. Category & Supplier Management Develop category management strategies aligned with business goals and industry best practices. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing opportunities and manage supplier performance. Build strong relationships with internal business partners and external vendors. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes and systems. Project & Leadership Responsibilities Act as project manager for short- to mid-term procurement initiatives, ensuring delivery of results within cost and schedule parameters. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed. Use sound judgment to recommend strategies that have significant departmental or business impact. Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management. Proven experience managing RFX processes and complex sourcing initiatives. Strong background in private telecommunications systems design and engineering, installation, and support services. Demonstrated experience with wireless/cellular networks for internal operational communications (not public carrier services). Experience with private telecommunications networks (built and managed internally versus leased). Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree required; if no degree, 10+ years of relevant work experience required. Preferred Skills Expertise in technical procurement of telecom and network infrastructure. Strong understanding of financial, logistical, and risk analysis tools. Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. Experience in category management and strategic sourcing frameworks. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
