Job Description

Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged exclusively to source a Procurement Assistant on a full time basis. This role is offered on an initial 12 month contract, with the view to go permanent. Our client is a successful, PE backed business providing a range of services across renewables, oil and gas and ocean services. This role is based in Kingswells on a hybrid basis (three days in the office). Our client offers flexible working, career development and a competitive day rate. This role will make a substantial contribution to the growth and success of the business through the effective purchase and supply of goods and services to meet specific business requirements. Candidates must be available to start within one month notice. The Opportunity Assisting with the identification, sourcing and purchase of all goods and services in line with the Business Procedures, to deliver best value through the procurement processes and for being the main point of reference within the Business on all matters concerning the supply of these goods and servicesOffer valued support, regulation and experience to the business to ensure Best Value is achieved for the Company and its customers Work closely with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve the procurement serviceIssue of appropriate Invitation to Tender / Request for Quotation, discussing queries, analysing quotations and make recommendation to the appropriate budget holdersNegotiate prices/rates, delivery dates, etc., to provide best value and formally issue Purchase Orders to reflect negotiated AgreementsSupport Invoice Processing Manage own workload to ensure purchasing deadlines are metEnsure all Vendors are sourced, evaluated and selected through the business Vendor Accreditation ProgrammeTracking of hire itemsMonitor finance mailbox and respond to vendor queriesDeliver cash / added value savings as identified annuallyAll suppliers and sub-contractors engaged are suitably qualified and approvedOperational delays attributed to procurement issues are zeroBackground and Experience Previous experience in procurement, supply chain or commercialStrong interpersonal skillsStrong time management and attention to detailAbility to work on own initiative Flexibility and BenefitsHybrid working (3 days in the office per week)Flexible working Competitive salaryExcellent working environment Next StepsIf you are interested in taking the next step in your career or feel a change of environment or sector is your next path, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you!
