Procurement Specialist

Strategic Procurement Specialist Ottawa, ON CanadaWe’re seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to manage and coordinate end-to-end procurement operations. This role oversees supplier relationships, purchasing activities, and cost optimization to ensure timely and high-quality acquisition of goods and services.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to deliveryDevelop and execute strategic sourcing plansNegotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliersReview and approve purchase orders; ensure accuracy and complianceCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Production, Quality)Monitor supplier performance and support quality assuranceGenerate reports on costs, KPIs, and vendor evaluationsREQUIREMENTS:At least 2 years of Supply Chain ManagementAssociates or Certification in Business or Supply Chain Management preferredExperience sourcing industrial components (electrical, mechanical, control systems, PCBs)Strong understanding of procurement processes, negotiation techniques, and supply chain managementEffective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and sometimes under tight deadlinesAbility to problem solve procurement issues and come up with effective solutions to meet deadlines neededProficiency in using software and data entryWork Environment & Conditions:Onsite-based role with periodic travel to supplier sites and industry eventsPrimarily on-site at the manufacturing facility; may require occasional visits to vendors or shipping partnersWe are an equal opportunity employer, and we are an organization that values diversity.
