Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) your key responsibilities will be to:Lead product development from concept through to customer deliveryEnsure design intent and customer requirements are fully met in production and deploymentAlign capability and resources, reframing solutions to deliver outcomes within constraintsTranslate customer requirements into clear, actionable product specificationsCoordinate across departments to maintain quality, schedule and performanceEstablish processes for customer feedback and continuous improvementGuide development of next-generation products in line with strategic objectivesEngage with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure delivery successSelection CriteriaEssentialExperience in low to mid-volume batch manufacturingProven capability in end-to-end product lifecycle managementStrong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical and business driversExcellent problem-solving skills with a focus on practical solutionsClear, concise communication skills, able to bring alignment across teamsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivateDesirableDefence industry experience or exposure to highly regulated environmentsFamiliarity with advanced manufacturing processes and technology developmentBackground in coordinating cross-disciplinary teams (engineering, operations, and supply chain)Success in the RoleWithin your first 12–18 months, success will be demonstrated by:Products consistently delivered to specification, on time, and meeting customer expectationsTeams working effectively within resource constraints, with challenges reframed into achievable solutionsClear product specifications and delivery pathways established for current and next-generation systemsStrong cross-functional coordination ensuring smooth handover from R&D to production and customer deploymentEmbedded feedback processes resulting in measurable product improvementsTrusted relationships built with suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders N.B.
