Production Planner

Job Title: Production PlannerLocation: Balakong, SelangorJob SummaryThe Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure smooth manufacturing operations, on-time delivery, and optimal utilization of resources. This role acts as a key link between production, procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align material availability, capacity planning, and customer demand.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and production capacity.Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and logistics to ensure raw material and component availability.Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules proactively to meet changing priorities or unexpected delays.Communicate production plans and updates to relevant departments (sales, quality, production, site, and delivery teams).Liaise with process engineers to optimize production efficiency by minimizing downtime, setup time, and material shortages.Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, variances, and improvement opportunities.Support inventory management by balancing production output with demand and stock levels.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy.Prepare regular reports on production performance, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications & RequirementsDiploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP).Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.Preferred SkillsExperience in lean manufacturing or process optimization.Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.Familiarity with capacity planning and material requirement planning (MRP).Ability to generate reports and documents for process improvement activities.Experience providing training for process improvement initiatives.EMS ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and uphold the company’s Environmental Policy and EMS.Communicate and report environmental matters to the Superior / EMR / EHS Officer.Know actions to take in normal, abnormal, and emergency environmental situations.Participate in environmental training, programs, and audits.Understand the environmental impact of work and take responsibility to mitigate it.Conserve natural resources including water, energy, and paper.
