Job descriptionWithin a commercial team of 25 people worldwide, the market manager will be responsible for the B2B sales development of Southeast AsiaWe are seeking a dynamic and motivated candidate, with a strong background in the travel industry and preferably experience in the rail sector. The results-oriented individual will partner with premium retail travel agencies, tour operators, OTAs, and national consortia to develop and grow the portfolio.The primary role of this position is to formulate business development plans, and budgets in achieving sales target, boosting local sales with local agencies, consolidating sales networks, developing new business opportunities, establishing partnerships (destination partners, airlines, NTOs…), creating and implementing a yearly marketing plan for this region.This position works closely with local sales, marketing, communications, operation, and technical team.ResponsibilitiesBusiness developmentDevelop new Key Accounts (KA) and establish new strategic partnerships; cooperate with travel trade partners (tourism offices, airlines, hotels, retail partners and travel agencies).Joint management of commercial contracts, preferred partner relationships and associated incentive agreements.Responsibility for sales monitoring including week-to-month-to-quarter analysis, identifying business opportunities and challenges. Includes competitor analysis, market trends & intelligence.Ensure sales efficiency of his/her portfolio: plan visits to optimize and minimize travel budgets, focus on the right priorities, use of Salesforce as per company guidelines.Account managementEnhance the relationships with current KAs, travel agencies and travel trade partners.Prepare, monitor and maximize the sales incentives/marketing plan, budget and campaigns (online/offline) with local KAs; prepare the marketing proposal and report.Training and supportIdentify the needs of local Key Accounts and travel agencies with sales visits, product training, and face-to-face communication on a regular basis.Provide timely support and handle the enquiries and requests (products, operation/technical, accounting and group bookings etc.) of local GSAs and travel agencies with headquarters.Marketing coordination & eventsOrganize and participate in sales calls, roadshows, trainings, workshops and FAM trips to Europe.Work closely with the marketing team for the production and distribution of newsletters, sales and marketing materials, product catalogues, brochures, and press releases.OtherPerform business trips with frequent domestic and overseas travel.Perform other occasional duties as assigned.Preferred experienceExperience and education3–5 years of experience in the travel industry (travel agency of medium size)Bachelor’s degree in business, tourism or related fieldSkills & competenciesFluent in English (written and spoken)Native or fluent in Thai or Bahasa MelayuHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsStrong analytical skills and business acumenStrong time and project management abilitiesCapable of multitasking and working under pressureReliable, mature, self-confident and proactiveAble to work independently while being a team playerComfortable working in an international and multicultural environment, and willing to travel frequently (both domestically and internationally)Nice to haveComfortable using social media tools; knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plusPrevious exchange, study or professional experience in EuropeKnowledge of the European travel market and/or train productsExperience with Salesforce or other CRM toolsFamiliarity with marketing or partner activation tools (event planning, webinars, co-branded content, etc.)
