The Program Manager primarily provides comprehensive support to the Molecular Oncology Department Chair on various administrative, research, and education functions, coordinates meetings, supports talent acquisition activities, maintains timelines for various functions, and manages resources.This is a hybrid position requiring at least 50% onsite presence, with additional onsite time as business needs arise. The candidate must be highly flexible and prepared to respond to business requirements at any given time. Adaptability and a strong commitment to supporting organizational priorities are essential for success in this role.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting high-level executive leadership and managing research administration, including drafting and handling professional communications such as letters and reports on behalf of senior leadership. Manage and draft communication on behalf of the chair for faculty members and key stakeholders to include but not limited to letters, reports, articles, memorandums, power point slides, and speeches. Serve as liaison on behalf of the Chair with other basics science department administrators/administrative staff, research scientists/investigators, and other executive level professionals in the offices of the Vice President of Basic Research and Chief Scientific Officer to ensure efficient communication, follow-thorough, and coordination of the chair and department needs. Possess knowledge of institutional processes, forms, and contacts as well as State and federal policies on research to facilitate completion of projects and work for the chair.Department Administrator Support Track projects and special assignments of members of faculty committees and participate in those meetings as required. Manage Faculty Meetings and Other Research Meetings. Assist with preparation and execution of department annual events and appraisals Ensures timely and accurate submission of required reports/documents for manuscripts and grants by tracking stages, alerting investigators, and initiating response processes.Trainees Develop and maintain data and tracking system for trainees, manage trainee records for the chair Process appointments in Slate and personnel actions in PeopleSoft for appointments and reappointments. Manages and tracks the GSBS graduate students in the department to gather data for grant submissions and department reports.VISA Administration for Classified Staff and Trainees Maintain data and tracking system for VISA staff, manage H1B visa applications, provide department documentation needs for F1 and J visa holders.Other duties as assigned.EducationRequired: Bachelor's DegreePreferred: Master's Degree or PhDExperienceRequired: Five years of related experience to include three years program management. or three years experience required with Master's degree. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.Preferred: Prior experience supporting high-level executive leadership and managing research administration, including drafting and handling professional communications such as letters and reports on behalf of senior leadership.
