Brief DescriptionPosition SummaryAs an Electronic Security Installation Project Manager, you'll design, quote, and manage the installation of sophisticated electronic security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) for a Tier 1 retail client. You’ll lead and coordinate internal and subcontractor teams while applying hands-on trade skills in fault finding, wiring, commissioning, and maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electronic security systems: produce system layouts using AutoCAD or similar software.Prepare detailed, accurate quotations including labour, materials, and installation costs.Diagnose faults by examining and testing electronic equipment and control systems.Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and components in security hardware.Reassemble, test-operate, and fine-tune installed systems to ensure functionality and reliability.Use knowledge of electronic circuits (analogue, digital) and microcontroller-based hardware to commission systems.Program and configure system interfaces, access control logic, alarm parameters, and camera networks.Install, test, and maintain both wired and wireless security systems per client plans and compliance standards.Create and manage site-specific WHS documentation, including SWMS for installations.Advise clients and users on correct operating procedures to prevent system malfunctions.Produce project documentation: as-built drawings, sign-off forms, compliance certifications.Manage installation teams and subcontractors to complete projects on time and within budget.Apply electrotechnology trade principles (electrical, electronic, mechanical) in all stages of system setup.Stay up to date with industry trends, component technologies, and security standards.Required Skills & KnowledgeProven ability to examine, test, and fault-find complex electronic systems.Experience repairing or replacing worn or defective electronic parts, wiring, and components.Competency in reassembling and test-operating systems, including tuning and adjusting for optimal performance.Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory (analogue, digital circuits), microcontrollers, and system control logic.Skilled in configuring and programming electronic security interfaces (access control, alarms, CCTV).Experience using engineering or drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD) and reading technical diagrams/schematics.Knowledge of safe work practices, WHS regulation, and risk assessment in electrotechnology environments.Ability to advise end-users on correct system operation and maintenance to minimize faults.Capability to interpret and apply mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic principles if required in system design or integration.Proven project management experience: coordinating installation teams, managing subcontractors, and overseeing project delivery.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.Qualifications & LicencesCertificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920) or an equivalent qualification.Class 2C NSW Security Industry License (or equivalent state license).Valid driver’s licence.General Construction White Card.Experience in installation and commissioning of electronic security systems (access control, intruder alarms, CCTV).Experience quoting for systems (e.g., Integriti, Tecom, Milestone, NX Witness) is highly desirable.Why Join Us Fully hands-on trade role blended with project management responsibility.
