We are seeking an energetic Property Accounting Supervisor with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to join our accounting team, managing a portfolio of large multi-family units. This hybrid role is based in our Denver, CO office. The Property Accounting Supervisor reports to the Accounting Manager, while giving directions to the Property Accountants and Junior Accountant.Responsibilities of the Property Accounting Supervisor:Manage full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of multi-family properties, including journal entries, weekly bank reconciliations, and month-end closeReview Balance Sheet and Income Statement to ensure accuracy and completenessMaintain accurate tenant ledgers in accordance with company policy and guidancePrepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages to clients in a timely mannerTriage payment of invoices through our payment portalSupervise the Property Accountants and Junior Accountant, providing guidance, training, and supportReview monthly financial packets prepared by Property Accountants for completeness and accuracyPrepare and maintain quarterly workpapersReview commercial leases and prepare CAM reconciliations to ensure accurate billingsCollaborate with the Head of Portfolio to assist in the preparation of the annual property budgetsAssist in the external audit, and lender compliance reportingPerform ad hoc projects as needed and provide support to the accounting and property management teamsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting7+ years of progressive accounting experience, minimum 5 years in the residential and/or multifamily real estate industry is required2+ years of supervisory experience preferredExperience with AppFolio (preferred) or YardiExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsDetail oriented and able to handle a large volume of transactions dailyAbility to collaborate at a high level with internal staff and external providersCan work with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate quickly and effectively daily using various remote office tools such as Slack, Google, or ZoomWorking EnvironmentThis position will start as remote and transition to a hybrid schedule - requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office.About CHARLESGATECHARLESGATE is an integrated real estate firm that empowers thousands of clients throughout Eastern Massachusetts with a comprehensive array of services across residential and multifamily commercial real estate - property management & leasing, sales brokerage, investment sales, construction, and new development.
