Throughintegration and collaboration, we’re building a health system underpinned bypartnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.About The RoleOlder Adults Rehabilitation & Allied (ORA) services have a permanent, full time opportunity for a rehabilitation physician.This role will work collegially within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team in providing rehabilitation services based at Kenepuru Hospital along with providing rehabilitation & spasticity management clinics across the Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District.The position works alongside geriatricians with a strong interest in stroke and neurological conditions, registrars and house officers, allied health clinicians and senior nursing.About the Team/Service/ LocationKenepuru Hospital rehabilitation ward is a 20 bed unit providing inpatient rehabilitation services for the Capital and Coast District for people over 16 years of age. Patient’s rehabilitation needs include stroke, complex neurological conditions and amputees. There is a strong focus on goal setting and outcome measurement in the service and pathways to community rehabilitation.You will be part of a wider Geriatric and Rehabilitation service providing specialist care across the Wellington region in community, outpatient and inpatient settings.Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.About YouVocationally registered in rehabilitation medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) Fellowship of Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM) or equivalent qualification or able to register for vocational registration/fellowship with the MCNZWork in collaboration with multidisciplinary teamAble to provide consistently high standards of medical careRelevant experience and trainingWorking for Health New Zealand | Te Whatu OraHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is ‘the weaving of wellness’.
