Our team of specialist pathologists, scientists, technicians, phlebotomists, couriers, and shared services personnel deliver a world-class service that together collects, analyses, and reports over 7 million patient results annually.Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.About the role | Mō te tūranga:Our Patient Services Department is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee to become a valued part of our team. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering 80 hours per fortnight, based across North/West Auckland including collection centres in Helensville, Kumeu, Ranui, Massey, Henderson, and Te Atatū.Key Responsibilities:The key tasks include blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation.Provide professional customer service, and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.About you | He kōrero mōuTo be successful in this role:A positive and friendly approach to your work and demonstrate cultural and social sensitivity.Compassion for others, including a real desire to provide high-quality care to a wide variety of patients of all ages and circumstances.Excellent customer service skills including a high level of personal presentation.Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow processes accurately, even when under pressure.Respect for always ensuring patient confidentiality and in all matters.
