Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify hazards and ensure safety protocols are followed.Reporting: Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training, and prepare reports for management.Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and drills.Health Programs: Promote health and wellness programs, addressing occupational health concerns such as ergonomics and mental health.Collaboration: Work with management, employees, and external agencies to promote a culture of safety and health in the workplace.Safety Equipment: Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety devices.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, new regulations, and emerging safety technologies, recommending improvements as needed.Communication: Facilitate communication between employees and management regarding safety concerns and health issues.Budget Management: Assist in managing the budget for safety programs and initiatives, ensuring cost-effective measures are implemented.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with regulatory bodies and industry organizations to stay informed on safety trends and legislative changes.To prepare analysis such as but not limited to Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Ergonomic Risk Assessment (ERA), Noise Risk Assessment (NRA), Chemical Hazzard Risk Assessment (CHRA) and Risk Assessment (RA) each and every job/project by meeting the standard of safety practices and client requirement.SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTSPossess bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. An accredited diploma in occupational safety and health may also be acceptableCertifications: Relevant certifications such as National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) certification, Registered Safety and Health Officer (Green Book Holder).Five (5) of experience in safety and health roles.Commitment to ongoing learning and training in occupational safety and health, keeping updated on new regulations and best practices.Ability to perform physical inspections and emergency response drills, which may require physical activity.Understanding of industry-specific safety standards, particularly relevant to sectors such as construction, manufacturing, or oil and gasPossess valid BOSIET/T-BOSIET.
