INTERNAL ADVERTSecretary (Grade 6) – 3-year contract Part-time (3 hours per day)Confucius Institute at Rhodes UniversityThe Confucius Institute at Rhodes University invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team.Main ObjectivesThe incumbent is responsible for providing a high level efficient and effective general administrative and secretarial support service for the Confucius Institute at Rhodes University. The incumbent will work closely with both Confucius Institute Director to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Confucius Institute, including financial works related to the purchasing of items and various bookings. The incumbent is also required to liaise and interact with international colleagues and guests at a high level, to present a good impression of the Confucius Institute at Rhodes University.The RequirementsGrade 12 plus approximately 6 months’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -Previous experience within an electronic administration environment which includes sound organisational and planning skills as well as time management skills.Previous experience in making bookings and purchasing items through a digital system, e.g., FinCore, Protea, etc.Previous experience in setting up and maintaining filing and administrative systems.A good command of the English Language.Application ProcessIt is essential that prospective candidates read the job profile for further information and ensure that all relevant documentation is submitted.The Following Documents Are RequiredA comprehensive CV and relevant qualifications which should include the following: -Reasons for leaving your current and previous jobs.Referees who are and/or were your direct line manager, their title, name, designation and contact information which should be at least their contact number and email address.A strong and succinct motivation outlining your interest in the post and suitability relative to the job requirements.Please note that no hand-written applications will be considered.
