You will be responsible for leading the corporate communications and media relations, while partnering closely with the Brand and Marketing teams to strengthen storytelling, visibility, and national reputation. The role plays a key part in strengthening our national positioning in job matching and employability support. The incumbent will drive communications strategies, media engagement, and research-based storytelling that enhances credibility, while ensuring message alignment across marketing, branding, and digital initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesCorporate Communications & Media RelationsDevelop and implement strategic communications plans that reinforce our national role and impact on workers, employers, and industries.Lead all media relations functions, including media planning, press materials, interviews, op-eds, and event publicity.Build and maintain trusted relationships with journalists, editors, and key media stakeholders to strengthen our public profile.Craft compelling stories, speeches, and editorial materials that articulate our contribution to job matching, employability, and enterprise transformation.Translate research findings, survey data, and programme outcomes into media stories that demonstrate thought leadership and national relevance.Oversee research communication efforts from conceptualisation to media pitching and coverage tracking.Manage PR agencies to ensure strategic alignment, measurable impact, and cost-effective delivery.Support senior management with messaging frameworks, media responses, speeches, and interview preparation.Strengthen crisis and issues management frameworks, ensuring timely and coordinated communications responses.Evaluate, plan, and manage corporate visits to ensure alignment with our strategic messaging, institutional positioning, and stakeholder engagement objectives.Collaborate with other divisions to align media strategies with organisational initiatives and outreach campaigns. Marketing Communications & Brand StrategyPartner with Brand and Marketing teams to identify media and storytelling opportunities that enhance campaign outcomes and earned visibility.Plan and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns that build awareness, engagement, and public trust.Advise on communications hooks and storytelling integration within marketing campaigns to strengthen reach and resonance.Ensure brand consistency and message alignment across all channels and materials.Lead and mentor project teams in delivering multiple, concurrent initiatives with clear direction and effective coordination.Drive innovation in storytelling, integrating media, digital, and social engagement to amplify brand and campaign narratives.Manage creative, media, and PR agencies to ensure coherence, accountability, and delivery of high-quality outputs.Monitor, analyse, and report on communications performance metrics, integrating insights into strategic planning. Planning, Operations & GovernanceContribute to departmental planning, ensuring alignment with our mission, leadership priorities, and national role.Develop annual workplans, budgets, and KPIs to guide implementation and measure outcomes.Review operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance communications efficiency and governance.Ensure compliance with brand, data, and communications governance standards.Stay updated on media trends, technology developments, and best practices in public communications to inform strategy and innovation. Job RequirementsDegree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or related fields.8–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in corporate communications, public affairs, or media relations within government, public sector, or national institutions.Proven track record in leading media engagement, including relationship management, media pitching, and press coordination.Strong experience in research storytelling, able to interpret data and findings into impactful media narratives.Demonstrated ability to manage and evaluate PR, creative, and media agencies for performance and strategic value.Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex concepts into accessible and persuasive narratives.Strong understanding of communications planning, branding, and integrated marketing communications.Experienced in issues and crisis management, providing advisory and response support to senior management.Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working across multi-agency and cross-functional teams.Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational capabilities.Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient leader able to perform under pressure and deliver quality outcomes.Working Location: Jurong East, Devan Nair InstituteDesignation and salary will be commensurate with experience.We will only contact shortlisted candidates.
