Directs and advises the creation and implementation of investment mandates and the selection and relationship management of internal and external managers. Emphasis is on the management, communications, and direction of portfolio management, investment strategy, and team direction and development; and relationship development and the creation of strategic alliances with external contacts and internal cross-functional areas.What You Will DoDevelop relationships and strategic alliances with external contacts and internal cross-functional areas. Communicates with new business deal teams on requirements and expectations in offshore jurisdictions in order to inform business objectivesManage offshore portfolios consistent with regulatory demands. This would include the Scenario Based Approach in Bermuda and similar frameworksServes as primary contact for internal manager, external manager, ALM, and/or legal entity relationships and has management and oversight responsibility for strategy implementation; serve on related committeesProvides strategic direction and oversight of portfolio monitoring, reporting, and analysis across internal/external managers and legal entities, while partnering in investment strategy and oversight for internal manager desks.Participate in and inform relative value framework process and directs actionable ideasManagement and oversight of cash positions and portfolio allocation processOversight of compliance management issues and status and signs off on periodic review of guideline/compliance rulesSuggests, reviews, and informs new tools and frameworks to improve portfolio management and investment processOversees periodic and ad hoc investment reporting, completes and presents new investment approval memos, and maintains regulatory communication frameworks for portfolio structure and management goals.Lead underwriting process for new investment opportunities and structures that facilitate better portfolio composition in various regulatory environmentsQualificationsMBA graduate or CFA Charterholder and 7+years relevant work experience required orBachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Economics/Finance related field with 10+ years relevant work experience requiredMaster’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) ASA, FSA, or CAIA or significant adjacent work experience preferredExperience operating in Bermuda and other offshore regulatory jurisdictions required10+ Years corporate credit experience preferred10+ Years alternative investment experience preferred10+ Years fixed income management experience in an insurance client environment preferredHighly advanced Microsoft Office skills/ coding skills requiredHighly advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge requiredExpert understanding of investment/market concepts requiredHighly advanced knowledge of asset liability management and fixed income analytics (i.e. sector weightings, portfolio duration, performance attribution, convexity and term structure of interest rates) requiredInvestigative, analytical and problem solving skills requiredAbility to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables requiredAbility to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects requiredHighly advanced negotiation skills to assist with internal/external discussions requiredAbility to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions requiredHighly advanced customer relationship management and change management skills requiredAbility to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines requiredDemonstrable track record of the successful implementation of Investment/portfolio strategies preferredCFA or significant progress towards requiredWhat you can expect from RGAGain valuable knowledge from and experience with diverse, caring colleagues around the world.Enjoy a respectful, welcoming environment that fosters individuality and encourages pioneering thought.Join the bright and creative minds of RGA, and experience vast, endless career potential.
