This is a blended role, providing traditional BAU support, primarily across the Microsoft technology stack (Windows Server, Azure, M365) whilst also working out of a project backlog when capacity allows.The key focus of the team is stability and availability of the client’s IT environment to ensure all compute infrastructure services are available to the client business needs. To achieve this, we require people with technical excellence, issue ownership and the delivery of professional, consistent, and quality service to our clients.Our offices are based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!What You’ll DoAt the moment, as a Senior Systems Engineer you will be focused on:Ensure consistency in delivery of service to our clients (as defined within SLAs)Maintain the documented architectural standards for clientsEscalation point for client related queries, incidents, or problemsImplementation of change requestsQA’s daily / weekly / monthly checks and inputs to service reportingOwnership of client specific operational processes and standardsIdentify process improvement opportunitiesSet and maintain operational standards for nominated technologiesLiaise with vendors or Datacom Vendor relationship managers to ensure support and escalation procedures are in placeProvide after-hours support on a roster basis.Work together with other team members to achieve common objectives.We are a pretty agile company and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.What You’ll BringFor this role, you'll need at least a years' experience in a Level 3 / systems engineering role. Ideally, you'll have Microsoft MCSE certification or equivalent work experience.We are looking for the following technical skills/experience:Microsoft Server operating system and core productivity applications.Virtualisation technologies.Microsoft messaging systemsAzure and Microsoft 365Enterprise Antivirus products e.g. Symantec, MS DefenderSystems monitoring toolsHardware and StoragePowerShell scriptingIt would be desirable if you had experience with:VMWare VSphere ServersCitrixDesktop virtualisationDevOpsAnsibleKubernetes/DockerSource Control, ie.
