About the roleSirius Energy is currently seeking a fresh Gas Trader eager to grow professionally and prove themselves in a market that is continually evolving.The selected candidate will work closely with Senior colleagues with decades of experience in energy commodities. He will trade Natural Gas Futures, focusing on short-term maturities in different European Countries (Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and Austria), optimizing the company’s portfolio of positions (storages and proprietary) covering all market opportunities on a 24/7 team setup, leveraging Sirius’s state-of-the-art Analysis and IT solutions.This is a unique opportunity for a young, talented, and result-oriented person willing to learn from industry experts and master the fundamentals of gas trading.Ideally, the resource comes from an analytical background (technical university studies, prior roles in gas logistics, analysis, junior trader), has an entrepreneurial mindset with strong curiosity and attention to detail, and is willing to take risks and work on shifts.ResponsibilitiesExecute physical gas transactions on a day-ahead, within-day, and next-hour basis across various European gas hubsWork on shifts with other colleagues to ensure full market coverage on a 24/7 basisManage the logistics of the gas businessParticipate in cross-border auctions for gas capacityParticipate in evaluating the profitability of storage auctions with senior managementIdentify market opportunities and fine-tune strategies to extract the maximum value from the company’s portfolioHedge the company's positions on longer-term maturitiesMonitor gas market dynamics, including supply disruptions, weather conditions, LNG flows, pipeline capacity, and share information within the deskHelp to develop and improve models to monitor fundamentals and pricesStudy market rules and regulations for each country where the company is activeIdentify opportunities in new marketsCollaborate with Senior Traders and Originators in maintaining and developing Sirius Energy’s Gas Portfolio.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, or a related fieldStrong analytical and quantitative skills to analyze large datasets, evaluate market conditions, and make real-time trading decisionsUp to 3 years of experience in gas trading, preferably with a focus on short-term optimization (DA, WD) or logisticsExcellent coding skills in PythonProficiency in English; German is a plusFamiliarity with the European gas market structure, regulations, and logistics is a plusWhy Sirius EnergySirius Energy is a young and dynamic energy trading company that counts on a group of talented professionals who are passionate about their job, where each employee can grow and reach their full potential.Join our team and shape the future of Energy.
