The successful candidate will play a key role in large-scale EU-funded R&D projects, driving the translation of business requirements into robust, scalable, and future-proof architectures that address complex societal, environmental, and industrial challenges. This position requires a strong background in software development and architecture design (minimum 7 years), with proven expertise in multi-tier/layer architectures and a track record of delivering innovative, enterprise-grade solutions.  Key responsibilities As a Software Solutions Architect, you will: Lead system architecture design, translating business requirements into a logical architecture aligned with project objectives and technical frameworks. Define integration strategies, infrastructure design, and cloud-based solutions that are scalable and research-ready, pushing the boundaries of technological innovation. Provide technical leadership during implementation, mentoring development teams and ensuring industry best practices are followed. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and platforms to meet project needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Europe (academic, industrial, and governmental) to ensure smooth coordination and the successful execution of R&D project goals. Oversee implementation methodology and deployment, ensuring alignment with the broader technical vision of each project. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams during implementation. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and deliverables for EU funding agencies. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in software architecture.  Minimum Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (PhD or advanced degrees a plus). 7+ years of experience in software development and software solution architecture. Proven track record in enterprise-level architecture, from concept to deployment, aligning solutions with business strategy. Extensive expertise in microservices, distributed systems, and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Strong proficiency with Microsoft technologies (.NET, Azure, related frameworks). Solid knowledge of databases (relational DBMS and NoSQL). Hands-on experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker). Familiarity with message brokers and asynchronous communication. Strong understanding of SOA, event-driven, and interoperability architectures. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English (Greek an advantage). Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Solutions Architect are highly desirable.  Skills & Competencies Technical leadership with the ability to guide teams through complex architectural decisions. Expertise in DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code with Terraform/Ansible). Proficiency in cloud-native architectures, orchestration, and serverless deployments. Strong focus on security, performance optimisation, and cost efficiency. Proven ability to make critical technical decisions under pressure. Effective cross-functional collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Innovative mindset, always seeking emerging technologies to improve outcomes. Strong business acumen to align technical solutions with strategic goals. Adaptability and resilience in fast-changing environments.  Personal Qualities Emotionally intelligent, motivated, and proactive. A strong team player and mentor, able to inspire and support colleagues. Passionate about continuous learning and staying ahead of technological trends.  What we Offer Attractive annual gross salary: €30,000 – €45,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Access to Provident Fund and Medical Insurance plan after the first 6 months’ probation.  Flexible working hours (39h/week) within a collaborative and innovative culture. Bonus Loyalty Scheme. Opportunity to collaborate with leading European organisations on impactful EU-funded projects. A chance to shape cutting-edge R&D solutions that address real-world challenges. Long-term career growth in a company recognized as a leader in European innovation. Work in a modern corporate environment in Nicosia, Cyprus (hybrid presence).  Why Join Us? At eBOS, you won’t just be building systems, you’ll be architecting the future of digital innovation in Europe.
