Sustainability Specialist & Partnership Lead (Education Sector) Working Pattern: Full-time (5 days per week) Location: Hybrid (as required by client and Blue Marble) Start Date: Jan 2026About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Sustainability Specialist & Partnership Lead to join our growing digital and sustainability team.This full-time role combines expert sustainability input into a major Department for Education (DfE) digital service project with business development and account management responsibilities for Blue Marble’s partnerships with Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs).It’s an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is equally comfortable advising on sustainability policy and strategy, as they are engaging with education clients, building relationships, and driving growth.The role will be split approximately 50% sustainability delivery and 50% partnership development and account management.1️⃣ Sustainability Expertise for DfE Digital Service (50%)You will provide sustainability subject-matter expertise to a multidisciplinary team run by a PLC client, contributing to the design and delivery of a national digital service supporting schools on their sustainability journey.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert advice on sustainability in the education sectorSupport the design, content, and functionality of a DfE digital service for schoolsContribute to workshops, research, and content development activitiesEnsure sustainability messaging is aligned with DfE policy and evidence-based practiceCollaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary digital delivery team (product, UX, content, data, and engineering)2️⃣ Blue Marble Partnerships with Multi-Academy Trusts (50%)You will join Blue Marble’s team to grow engagement with Multi-Academy Trusts, developing long-term relationships and helping them embed sustainability across their operations.Key Responsibilities:Identify and engage MATs interested in sustainability and net zero planningDevelop tailored proposals, presentations, and sustainability offeringsBuild and manage strong client relationships from first contact through deliveryWork with Blue Marble’s senior team to expand services in the education sectorRepresent Blue Marble at sector events and networking opportunitiesSupport marketing and thought leadership activitiesEssential ExperienceStrong understanding of sustainability issues, challenges, and policy within the education sectorDemonstrable experience advising or delivering sustainability projects for schools or education bodiesProven background in partnership development, sales, or account managementExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsExperience collaborating within multidisciplinary teamsHighly self-motivated and commercially awareDesirable ExperienceFamiliarity with the DfE’s Sustainability and Climate Change StrategyExperience in digital service delivery or public sector consultancyUnderstanding of MAT operations, governance, and decision-makingPrevious experience in a sustainability consultancy or advisory capacityPersonal AttributesSelf-starter with excellent initiative and follow-throughConfident communicator and team collaboratorPassionate about sustainability, education, and real-world impactComfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environmentAdditional InformationHours: Full-time (5 days per week)Location: Hybrid/flexible, with travel to client or Blue Marble meetings as required
