Customers in more than 135 countries depend on Aviat Networks to build, expand, and upgrade their voice, data, and video solutions.About the Role: This position is responsible for managing all finance, accounting, and tax-related activities for the United Kingdom and selected European regions. The Financial Accountant will proactively identify and address issues, escalating them to the Financial Controller as needed, and will recommend improvements to systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracyResponsibilities:Prepare journals and maintain GL accounts to ensure information is captured accuratelyComplete accruals, reconciliations and monthly processing including allocationsPrepare monthly expense reports for Department Heads Reconcile required balance sheet accounts and enter into SharePoint/Blackline.Review inter-company accounts to include the acceptance and creation of AGIS and clearing of inter- company balances.Provide US with required schedules, in the requisite format supporting the monthly reported results.Manage the company's cash position and review monthly cash forecasts for various entitiesMonitor and update cash flow requirements, as neededReview daily bank statements for the company and update balances for USCoordinate the submission and processing of invoices and payments with AP teamReview and approve payroll calculations prior to payment in accordance with current agreements and legislationComplete/Coordinate all statutory returns.Ensure capital expenditure records and monthly schedules are updated.Ensure depreciation calculation is correct.Assist in timely filing of all tax returnsUse AVIAT nominated tax consultants to support calculation and payment of required taxes.Ensure the VAT calculation, WHT calculation, charging and reporting is correct.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Competencies:Qualification in accountancy and/or demonstrated competence in equivalent roleProfessional Accounting qualification - CIMA, ACCA or CPA preferred5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment. Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards in the UK and other European jurisdictions.Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.Knowledge of VAT, corporate tax, and statutory reporting requirementsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently.Strong teamwork and collaboration across departments and regionsWe encourage you to read our Candidate Privacy Notice.
