SMMIS is looking for an experienced Teacher of Art & Maker Space to start in August 2026.Job PurposeTo be accountable for the standards of teaching and learning and pupil progress in Art & Maker Space.To design an engaging and challenging curriculum that inspires children to appreciate the subject and its application.Main DutiesTo deliver the curriculum in accordance with the School’s timetableTo keep up to date wth developments in the curriculum and in teaching practice methodologyTo develop the Maker Space programme across the school to enhance teaching and learningTo exercise professional skills and judgementTo impact on the educational progress of all pupils in the schoolTo work with others to ensure the most appropriate links are made to ensure that the curriculum meets the individual students’ needsTo maintain accurate records of all assessments and feedback of all studentsTo develop and enhance the classroom practice of the teaching assistantTo manage the Art budget through close monitoring of resource development, maintenance and organisationRequirementsQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalentDegree, or equivalent, in specialist subject or a related subjectA proven track record of teaching and raising attainment of students in the development of Art skillsAt least 5 years’ teaching experienceExperience and familiarity with International Education essentialExperience of teaching IPC/IMYC would be an advantageEvidence of appropriate in-service trainingInterested applicants please send your Letter of Application and CV.We regret that only shortlisted applicants will be notified.The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students, children and young people and expects all employees, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
